    Everyone else is doing it
So... I guess i'll update my journal, at least until winter break ends. This quarter moved at light speed. I can't believe that in a couple of days I'll be heading back on my grotesquely expensive flight (I booked late) back home to the bay area. I'm looking forward to three weeks where my brain can simply atrophy, when my biggest concern will be not gorging excessively on some good indian food. But...i'm sure that one week into my break i will long to be back at college. I LOVE IT. Having all your close friends in a .25 mile radius is incredible.

Which is why next year is going to be even better. The apartment situation is going to be amazing. And we best be getting a dawg, whom we can call simply "Dog".

    Here Dog. Come here boy.

Ok... i can't bullshit anymore... i have nothing of interest left to say.

    More later.

    A killer read.
Ya, so I went to the gym after about two months of sitting on my arse. I did bicep curls, but apparently my weak arms were even weaker than i thought and now they ar so sore i can't extend them from the curl position too much. Haha, so my arms are practically in a permanent curl. Tennis is out, so now i am passing the time by reading... the curl position is perfect for reading. The book is The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown... it's so damn good. If you haven't read it you should.

Ya that's it. Pray for my arms.

    Egypt
    Hey,

So I'm back home in Delhi after a one week vacation in Egypt.

Egypt was amazing. We flew Egypt Air (which sucks more ass than Air India), and landed in Cairo. Cairo is really reminded me of Bombay. Both cities are very overpopulated (only 10% of Egypt is inhabitable) and dirty, and some of the darker egyptians even look very similar to Indians (we were confused for egyptians many times). After landing in Cairo, we took a 45 minute drive to the Giza district of Cairo, where are hotel was. The hotel was absolutely fantastic, and we had a view of the pyramids from our room balconies. After we arrived we relaxed at the hotel, went for a swim and then ate some AMAZING egyptian food. Their diet is rich in meats (so i naturally like it).

The next day was really busy as we saw three pyrmaids (Cheops, Khefrin, and one other guys). The pyramids are incredible from outside but going inside is a waste. You have to crawl down a claustrophobic tunnel only to arrive to empty rooms. Then we went to the Egyptian Musuem which contained lots of statues of ancient egypt and even the mummified corpses of some of the phaoroes. Then we went to a papyrus musuem and went shopping at the bazaar called Khan El Khalili.

We then traveled to Alexandria which was the site of the famous library that burned down. Alexandria has amazing seafood, so we gorged on some and then went to the amazing mediterranian beaches that it's famous for. Alexandria is where most of the egyptian families go to vacation.

The next stop, Luxor (also known as Thebes), was an hours flight away. Luxor is where the famous valley of the kings is. This is where all the tombs of the new kingdom kings are. King Tut's tomb was found here. The tombs were awesome. After the valley of kings we went to some temples in luxor.

Then we went on a 4 day cruise down the Nile, stopping for sightseeing at Edfu, Komambo, and Aswan along the way.

Egypt is amazing, after spending eight days in egypt, we only scratched the surface of what it has to offer. (oh yeah egyptian music is amazing).

Now i'm back in delhi (with internet at home, finally)... ergo this update.

I'm back again, and am seriously blacker than ever
    Hey guys...

Sorry for not updating sooner (i know you guys were stuck to your seats waiting for my update), but my cousin's broadband is down (I'm updating from work *gasp*).

So, I'm still having lots of fun in India, eating out every day and having something to drink almost every day. My cousin mixes great drinks and hopefully he'll pass on his skills. Oh... one night we went to this club called Lush and saw the former Miss Universe (Lara Dutta) and the former Miss World (Gulpana somethingorother). Oh and I'm seriously attracted to a 24 year old friend's sister (older women? sahil?? what?), but unfortunately this friend likes me... so it's kind of weird.

Work is going well, but its so annoying to have to get up early and spend your entire day in an office. I'm taking tomorrow and saturday off and spending the weekend in Pune (which is a 2.5 hr drive from bombay). I have taken tons of pictures and wish I could upload them, but first I have to get my computer on to the net :(, but when i do i will definitely post the better ones. There is a hotel nearby which has a wireless internet, so maybe one day I'll just go sit in the lobby and post all the pictures up to the net.

I'm really having a good time hear, but am also looking forward to a trip I'll be taking with my parents to Egypt and New York. It will be a nice change of pace from the work hard play hard attitude of Bombay.

What do you guys want from india? (Julie I'll try my hardest to find you a brown gay guy... but i think they just don't make em)

Monsoon Weddings, Cholera, and Securitisation (That's how they spell it here)
Ya...So I flew air india and it sucked major ass. I must admit that the food was undoubtedly SEXY though (A.R.). So after endless connections and sexy food (which produced a proportionately sexy amount of gas), I landed at Indira Gandhi International Airport. I rushed passed immigration and dashed to baggage claim.

When to my surprise Air India had lost my bags. I had to go to the Sangeet of my cousin's wedding that very night and all my nice clothes were in my bag. So I got off a 25 hour long flight and went to shopping for clothes and then went to my cousin's wedding which really tired me out. The next day I attended the second part of his wedding...the next day the third... and the day after that i flew to bombay...and then attended another wedding of a friend...and today another part of the wedding and then the reception. Yay. I started working too once I reached Bombay. I have to work Monday through Saturday :(((((((((. OOOHHH YA and on top of all that I have cholera. Oh well... okay... not cholera but i wanted you guys to really feel bad for me, but I do have a gastrointestinal virus which really sux.

But for all that Bombay is REALLY fun... I mean I am with really cool kids that I spent the first four years of my life with and now have the chance to reconnect with and i get to spend 2 months with them. We are planning to go clubbing on Sunday. YES! Who'd have thought?

Around the World in 80 Days
What a hectic day! Yesterday night I was sitting with my aunts and uncles when I got the impulse to check my passport and tickets and stuff. I had blissfully thought that my last visa for India would still be valid, but to my horror it had expired in December. Here I was, at 10:00 P.M., just one full day away from my flight to India with no visa in hand. My two uncles and I frantically drove over to Kinkos to take passport snaps, which were required for the visa form. I then went to bed, as I had to wake up at 7:00 to arrive at the embassy right as it opened.
I woke up and ran to the battered up Infinity that I have been driving this summer and headed out to San Francisco, which unfortunately is 60 minutes away from my uncle’s house in Cupertino. Luckily things went smoothly at the embassy and I managed to get a ten-year visa so I will be covered for a while. Plus, I got to spend some awesome time in the city with my friends as it took five hours to process the visa, and I didn’t want to go all the way back to Cupertino only to return again later. Man…if I hadn’t checked my visa I could have ended up in India without permission to leave the airport kind of like in Terminal (You guys should see it; It’s pretty funny).
Well, now, things are squared off and I leave tomorrow for Los Angeles at 3:45. Then, from L.A. I go to Frankfort, and then from Frankfort to Mumbai (Bombay), and then from Mumbai to Delhi. Shit. It’s gonna be a long trip. Then almost as soon as I reach, I get to go to my cousin’s wedding. All my immediate relatives (Mom, Dad, First Cousins, Aunts, Uncles) will be visiting India at the same time as me, so it should be fun, and luckily I will be in a different city so I can visit them at my own leisure.

The Indian Embassy... Ya, ya i know it looks like a 7-11.

    Game, Set and Match
I have unequivocally decided to drop out of college and enroll in Nick Bolleteri's Tennis Academy and use my college savings to help escalate me up the ATP ladder. Fuck Econ, fuck math, fuck college degrees. I will eat, throw up, sleep, and breathe tennis.
Did I fool ya? Even for a second ?

Well, the point is that I really enjoy the game and decided today that I will make it a main focus of mine over the summer.

Besides realizing my passion for tennis, I spent the morning helping my aunt Shweta pack stuff for their impending move to India -- my uncle and aunt will be leaving at the same time as I leave for India. Then, my aunt and I went to the DMV so i could renew my license. I lucked out and skipped taking a test but had to wait 2.5 fucking hours for a renewal process that took all of 10 minutes. I did, however, run into two of my fellow Menlo High classmates there and caught up with them and BEST OF ALL I AM MOBILE AGAIN!

Then I called up my friend Adriel and played some tennis with him and am looking forward tomorrow when we will have a guys night of Texas Hold em' Poker. I haven't really played this game but there is only a Two buck buy in so..... Wish me luck.

I realize this is a boring post but... hey, life doesn't always unfold like an episode of Six Feet Under. LONG LIVE BRENDA!

Back and Blacker than ever (I tan easily)
    Hey guys...

So, to fulfill a promise to update my livejournal during the summer, here is my first entry. The corner bookie will be taking bets on how long i actually manage to maintain this insatiable appetite to spill my guts.

One chapter is over! The 1st year of college went by so fast that it boggles my mind. I won't bore you guys with a recap of the year because all of you who will be reading this were there and lived it with me and helped make it so remarkable! I will say though that I have grown incredibely close to all of you, and I honestly left the college dreading the interminable summer that loomed ahead.

Speaking of leaving the college, I managed to persuade Anand to drop me off at Midway. He, being the awesome suitemate that he is, agreed to. I fell asleep and told him to wake me up. At six, he woke me up and I grabbed my stuff and noticed a peculiarly good smell. I mentioned the smell to Leon and Anand and thought it was odd because nothing in our sutie smells good. I shrugged it off to pot or alcohol or something and picked up my bags and headed out 116A for the last time. We approached Anand's Nissan when a glob of shaving cream dropped onto my new Old Navy cargo shorts (i'm a fashonista now). I touched my hair and realized that it was covered in shaving cream. A rational being would have been fuming... I mean i had to catch a flight and had gotten very little sleep and now i had to wash my hair out before leaving, but instead I felt an inexplicable sense of fraternity with my frat brother of a suitemate. This practical joke to me has become the perfect end to a damn good year.

Yepp (D.G.) ... I'm sitting here @ 532 listening to Harvey Danger and you know what it isn't half bad. College was great and I look forward to going back but right now I don't have to worry about anything and its great. Sure, jaje'b isn't there, but u know what my lil cousin Shivy is here ( and Mallika and Maya too!) and its a welcome break. How do I add pictures to these posts?
